Has anyone in the US made a diminshed value claim to an insurance company that accepted fault after an accident? How did you get or come up with the numbers? Can you recomend a service/someone who does this?

You need a lawyer. This is the first one that came up when I googled.

There are also companies that specialize in this. They will create a full report detailing what the actual value is. You will just have to submit the report to the insurance company. I haven’t used any to provide recommendations, but i have heard of success stories.

Just like shiv said, you will need to get value estimation by approved companies for that insurance company as well. I've done this twice now with success. Wife's Porsche and my old M2. The first one was with same insurance company and they really worked well with me and walked me through the process, it was minor but still got 13k cash out of it. The second I worked with a attorney because the company was walking around my questions, that I got a bit more 17k but it also cost me 3300 to get everything completed. This was in AZ so not sure about how your state handles things like that, but I did find out in AZ the inspector has to be state certified to be approved. Harder to find that than you think...
