Has anyone ordered a Detour? They are $170K plus in the USA.
I don't believe ordering is open just yet, and pricing starts at $164,400

You may not realise but there is a reason poodles are clipped like that. It enhances their functionality 😉

"Bred as a water retriever in early 17th Century Europe, the Poodle name comes from the German pudel or pudelhund, literally meaning 'water dog.' Since a Poodle's thick outer coat can get heavy when wet, the bottom half of the body was shorn back to help keep the dog afloat. To keep his organs warm in cold waters, the hair was kept long over the chest and head. Bracelets of ankle hair were left to protect joints from rheumatism, and a topknot was used to keep long hair out of the eyes when swimming

For $160k they should have at least put in multizone climate control, 360*camera, power cooled/heated seats with lumbar support, increased hp, built in shades for the safari windows, better stereo, more sound insulation…..
These things are ubiquitous and do not require reinventing the wheel.

If they price it like a G Wagon (essentially double the price of a Fieldmaster), it should come as equipped. Otherwise, it is an $80k up charge for paint and fancier leather and headliner.

There are enough people who will pay whatever for the cachet.

Just imagine paying $160+k for a Detour and still having a non functioning HVAC.

Hey, at least it has fine leather from pampered cows in the UK.

The detour has zero appeal.

All of the exterior bits are tacky and a huge step back.

Silver ladder - really!?

That weird grill..

There is also zero clout. People already don’t know grenadiers.. no one will know you spent 2x to get silver ladder and a rarer paint job

Not everything is horrible...the olive green headliner and other bits are lovely. Other than that, you're spot on.

Series Land Rover/Defender versus the Range Rover...I am the field worker not the Governor.
I do like the name, Detour and it's meaning, Taking the side road won't be a problem Gov, safe journey. ;)

Anyone who is familiar with Land Rover Defenders is already aware that there's a big market that accepts a $100,000.00 upcharge for aesthetics only... unfortunately, more often than not, the buyer ends up with 'lipstick on a pig.'

If the brochure for the Detour includes an image similar to the one below that kinda says it all. Annoyingly it does look yummy though.
