Dedicated Ineos Diagnostic tool GlobeGuard.ch OBD ii - UPDATE service interval working

So I updated the software (8 pages of instructions!) and tried a Service Interval reset. There are two options in the menu - the first is a "Service Reset" that bumps the miles remaining up to 6000. There's a second option "Custom Service" that lets you enter Days (max not apparent), Kilometers (max 9999), and Hours (max 9999). The maximums I'm reporting are just what the field takes and maybe not what the Ineos will accept.

I first tried the Service Reset, and my miles remaining went from 5010 to 6000, but the remaining time and remaining engine hours were unaffected. Then I tried the Custom Service and set 402336 km (250000 miles), 13033 days (I'll be 100 years old that month) and 9999 hours. It took my entries, but after the update, nothing was changed in the Service Interval reporting on the center display.

So then I tried 9999 km, 365 days and 360 hours - nothing changed on the center display.

So then I rebooted my computer and tried Custom Service again. This time I entered 9990 km, 365 days and 300 hours. That worked! I may have inadvertently had two instances of the Windows software running, so the reboot may have fixed that. Now I need to probe the limits of these fields. It's weird that it converted 9990 km to 6213 miles . . . it should be 6207 miles. Now 10000 km is 6213.7 miles, so maybe something is rounding 9990 km to 10000 km then truncating the decimal.

Starting values in the Grenny:

This is the Service Reset only - just the miles changed to a default 6000.

Here's all three parameters changed:

If anyone has some ideas for max permissible values, let us know ;)

That is great start but also wondering if the service alert pops up can that be cleared or will you have to say do that every 6mnths or so to keep things updated?

Yes...it's working. At last no more annoying service reminder.

Thanks for the guidance in resetting the service @Glen

I thought I read that it would work after a year, but would not be updated. That’s a shame if it requires payment each year.
For basic functions such as Airbag Error and Service Reset I believe we don't have to update every year. So only first payment is required solely for buying the unit.
