Compass/Altimeter backlight

With the headlight switch on Auto and when the headlights come on the Compass/Altimeter back light is bright. Once the headlights go off, the back light dims to the point you can barely read the display. It seems backwards. Same if I turn the headlight switch to off, the back light dims. I have not found a way to adjust it.

I wonder if we could reconfigure it by connecting the “lights on wire” to the positive wire instead of the light switch.

I have to admit that this is a nice idea, because I have indeed to switch my lights on during the day to be able to read it.

No solution yet. I’m hoping to discover how to get to the wires on the back.

I've decided to just leave my headlights on during the day and shut them off at night, backlighting works perfectly for the compass! A little hard to see the road, but worth the tradeoff

And if you are wearing polarized sunglasses, its unreadable during the day.

I do the same sometimes.

It looks like they have wired it the wrong way around. (if only things were that simple). But I am pleased that we are all suffering it and not just me.
