Class action

The vehicle was touted as a go anywhere, basic, old school platform we could both work on, modify and repair in the bush, it’s none of that… whilst most can call for a recovery in most locations, a driveshaft failing in outback Australia or Africa is no small issue.

I really like the vehicle and have had a lift for 50,000kms then the driveshaft boot split, local dealer feigned ignorance when I informed them they were proud to say they have fitted 40+ lift kits… let’s see what happens when they fail.

When I asked about collection of the vehicle as I am 130kms away they said just drive it in… ah no… still waiting after 7 weeks, I have a Rzeppa joint and Agile replacement will fit soon.

It’s the Ineos Achilles heel, aftermarket will fix a glaring fault…

I won't argue that with you, truth is in there. But call up John at Agile and ask him about the sales of his HD shaft that causes vibes. Apparently sales are off the charts. Could that be attributed to fear mongering, sure. Could it also be a result of many unreported stock or lifted drive shaft failures, you betcha. Will we know for sure, probably never. But I'd sure as hell keep an eye on your shaft in the meantime. Hate to hear Ineos deny warranty for a trashed gear box on your truck due to you using it for what it is.
Don't get me wrong. I think the design is shit and every last one of them is going to fail during the warranty period. As more trucks get more miles on them we will see more people showing up here for answers. Hell, my local dealer keep front driveshafts in stock... That is an odd part to stock unless you are seeing them fail regularly.

Someone really should start a poll
Title: Front propshaft failed - Model year, XXXkm/miles

1. No lift
2. Lift - 20,30,40mm, front levelling? (it's a US thing apparently , for looks)
3. Standard or long travel shocks
4. Installer
5. City or offroad mostly
6. Did you hit something , or ''prefer not to say''?

We also need total miles driven and number of failures and miles at failure. There are people who have replaced more than one.

Huh? How many miles on them? I know that someone posted here about three, but they were lifted and refused to remove/redo the lift?

A front shaft is a 'must' have, so Agile selling a lot of them would indicate that people are replacing BEFORE breakage. And the third party guys make all kinds of bits of kit that are 'upgraded' that people use to replace functional gear.

I made a pledge to avoid all Grenadier FB groups after the numpties, alpha dogs and fashion followers joined.
It's been a good decision.
The useful wheat ends up here , the chaff remains on meta.
