Bombala to Orbost - scenic alternative to the Monaro and Bonang highways

A very pretty alternative to travelling the above routes is to take a dirty detour through Combienbar on well-maintained forestry roads and then the sealed road through the valley following vine covered trees along waterways through lovely grazing country to get out to the Princes Highway.

From Bombala, follow the Monaro Highway towards Cann River then:
turn right at Mila Road
left at Buldah Road onto the manicured gravel of Bondi pine forest
right into Old Mill Road
right into Chinamans Creek Road
right into Coast Range Road
left into Hensleigh Creek Road and down the long hill
and right back onto the sealed surface of Combienbar Road
then right onto the Princes Highway to Orbost.
