Just taken off the "Alpine" grab handles to see what's behind and am astonished to find Dowty seals on the bolts.

Just good to know .

That is odd ...
Unless they are using it as the primary seal because the treaded section goes 'through' into the cabin ?

How tight are the shoulders on the flanged head torx bolts ?
There are secondary seals as well jut belt and braces the torque to remove was high
 
Have you stopped there or tried removing the concave plastic trim panel?
 
Removed the panel it has integrated rubber seal round edge but wiring stops total removal

If you have the Deutsche pin removal tool it should in theory be possible to remove the pins from the deutsche plug and you may be able to pull them through to get it off. (But I haven’t looked at it myself)
