Be aware that "Jason10" scammed me out of 170 bucks on an item he was supposedly selling.
Last week he posted he was selling a Weather Tech cargo mat and I posted there as well.
I am sure he has several aliases.
Just letting you guys know as a heads up.
Im sure the crook needs the 170 bucks more than I do.

Here is a link to his other "ad."

Just dropped that phone number in Google search, there is countless posts with that number selling multitude of stuff on different vehicle forums

His profile is still active on here. lf it's confirmed he's a scammer would it be worth reporting him to the relevant authorities in your country?

Wow. I was going to contact him about the cargo mat but got sidetracked and completely forgot about it. Lucky me.
Only allowing members with a certain number of posts to advertise their parts for sale would end that.
We do - I have been deleting his posts outside of Classified when they are reported. Please report any sales outside of Classified, so we can take action - it is not always easy to see one post in hundreds. Please use the "Report" function on the bottom left of the posts, as this give us an automated message to pay a post careful attention.

Another moderator banned him on the 27/09/2025.

Or every forum member PM him ( or her) 10x each, that should sort his inbox out 😉😉

Let this be lesson for everyone. This guy’s account and post history doesn’t pass the smell test with just a casual look.

TBH, very easy to spot as a scammer

I suspected a scam and he took a picture of the item with my name on it so that kinda fooled me.
My bad.
Are you sure it wasn’t photoshopped?

I faced a Facebook scammer - asked him to write something random and take a picture of it next to the product. The guy photoshopped the paper into a photo. It was a decent attempt!

Am I sure? No.
He got me.
Like I said, he probably needs the 170 bucks more than I do.
Somebody will catch up to him one day.

Other forums require a seller to post a pic of the item along with a handwritten note next to it showing the forum name, their forum handle and the date.

On another forum I follow, one enterprising scammer went out and grabbed a photo from an item that had been listed years earlier and then photoshopped their info on top of the original post-it note.

The amazing thing is that the brain doesn’t scrutinize the post-it note because it’s focused on the pic of the item being sold. Once the scam was brought to everyone’s attention it was obvious when you went back and actually scrutinized the photoshopped note. Sadly it was “hiding” in plain sight.

That’s why Magicians get us all the time!

For those who have been scammed, here’s a tip.
If you paid by bank transfer call the bank. Ask them “why are you acting for this fraudster.” There’s every chance the bank will pay you back.
I did this on behalf of a friend who had been scammed out of £2400 on eBay. The scammers bank paid him back.
