Why the name ‘Belfast’? When we talk about off road vehicles in the US, we have common names associated with areas of the country. Mojave, Baja, among others. As an American, I associate the name ‘Belfast’ with Northern Ireland and conflict with the IRA? I would have thought that a name after something in the Lakes District or somewhere in Scotland would evoke off-roading, over-landing.

What is ‘Belfast’ supposed to conjure up in people’s minds in Britian, England, the United Kingdom, the British Isles or what ever we are supposed to refer to it as…

And even if it were "Belfast", instead of thinking of some terrorist group, why not conjour up the birthplace of the Titanic instead?

Britian, England, the United Kingdom, the British Isles or what ever we are supposed to refer to it as…

Just stick to UK.... it's only 2 letters so even you could probably remember that

Ah, my dyslexia and first hearing it on a youtube lead me astray! I knew Belfast sounded weird, and yes I knew about the Titanic- which made it even weirder since its an industrial city. I’ve never heard of Belstaff clothing.

Either way it sounds like they won’t be using either over here!

Thanks for the clarification.
