Hey all - my wife and I are going to be in Vail Aug 24 - 28. I'm looking for recommendations of a trail in the area that you'd recommend, ideally with spectacular views, waterfalls, wildflowers, etc. We're not looking for anything too technical as we'll likely be solo and we'll have our dog with us.

Adam - good time to get out of the heat.
A good safe trail a few of us did a few weeks ago was starting in Montezuma, up Deer Creek Trail, back on. St. Johns trail. The photo is from that trail.
- It has views, and will still have some green.
Summer has turned dry, not any waterfalls or wildflowers left, and it is a drought year. Maybe a few hours south in the San Juan Mountains you can still find flowers
And don't be surprised if the wildfire smoke is present, it comes and goes.
It is beautiful up there, anything you do will be great.
