That’s got @McGeordie written all over it.

In other news, saw a black one in the staff car park at ARI today, anyone here?
Alas not me mate...however did see a nice Shale Blue with White Roof in Falkirk earlier, regrettably not close enough to exchange greetings

Silver trailmaster with me on the Gills Bay boat to Orkney on the 29th
On a completely unrelated issue. How do you lock your Grenadier to prevent the motion alarm going off. Does using the key in the door and not the remote cancel it 🤔

I just lock mine with the remote. Not had an issue.

You must have calm ferry crossings. A few years ago, to test the alarm, @DCPU lifted his locked grenadier with a hi lift jack and it set off the alarm. There is a long thread (one or two actually) on this forum about how to deactivate the tilt alarm (and motion alarm for dog owners). I initially ask IA and they responded it didn't have a disable facility. However members are reporting success in disabling when locking doors by using the key and not the fob.
This may only apply to the Fieldmaster?Trialmaster variant as initially they had a more "advanced" alarm. I don't know if the tilt and motion sensor was on the other models.

Is that the short crossing to South ronaldsay? I’ve only ever done the Scrabster-Stromness route, how was it?
I've only done the South Ronaldsay crossing once (each way)........ fortunately the nice crew member who reversed my 8m caravan onto the ferry knew what he was doing! They had to lay huge thick ropes under the back end of the caravan as it would have grounded big time

The crossing itself was fine - catering was basic, but only a short trip. (y)

Thanks T. Is it one of the landing-craft type vessels where you can stay in the car?

Oh, happy new year to you all!

No, large catamaran, all vehicles reverse on. I don’t believe you can stay in the car - from memory. But a reasonable size vessel. If you want roll on / roll off, it’s Scrabster to Stromness. The Cat is quicker and cheaper.
Happy new year :)

Ahhh I see, thanks. I spent a lot of time in Orkney in the 80’s and 90’s and distinctly remember visiting quite a few of the smaller islands on what looked like a ww2 landing craft, seemed like a great adventure to a little kid into Commando, Victor and Warlord comics 😅

Some of the smaller island ferries are mini ro-ro boats. And yes, you can stay in the car on many of them. :)

We’ve booked for Shetland in October. (y)

Oh awesome, I’ve only ever been there for work - to Sullom Voe and the hospital but never done any of of the tourist things or any sight seeing. A good mate of mine is from there and it looks amazing. Deserted beaches, wild pubs 😅

There’s a new distillery there too I believe 🤔

@KBKLR has decided to enter the photo competition, but will need to re-enter when the January thread opens. We all need to make sure we get on and vote to get another winner from our part of the world. Can't have the Yanks & Aussies beating us.
