A couple of years ago, I did a Scottish "Safari" in my Defender 110. Non-damaging, but more than just a "forest drive".
I know it isn't easy in Scotland (I lived in Cumbria for a couple of years - there are legal green lanes all over - great for my Defender, and also my Honda CRF300 trials bike!) - the access restrictions are a tad crazy IMO
To give you a flavour, this is the type of thing I have in mind (this is the one I did in the 110):

Earlier today I had an email chat with a chap who arranges similar things for a Land Rover club.
He's indicated he may do one for us...a group of Grenadier enthusiasts :)
This posting is to test the water.
Locations are likely Dumfries and Galloway or Perthshire. Most likely a Sunday.
I'm thinking we could add a night for a social as well (maybe a choice of hotel or camping - ideally both)
To get a gauge of possible numbers - please reply below, and I'll see where we get to?

OK... Had a chat with the potential organiser I have in mind.
He runs several of these a year, and would run one dedicated to us.
We would really need a minimum of several Grenadiers, and a max of 20.
He has a few of the big Scottish Estates available to him (and therefore us)
It would cost approx. £1k, split between the group, so somewhere between £50 and £130 (per vehicle) for a full day, in a beautiful part of the Scottish countryside (he just explained to me the costs associated, he's not out to make loads of money for himself!). Last one was 11 Defenders plus the guide...it was a good number IMO
This would be a wilderness adventure/safari type event (see my video in the opening posting) - NOT a pay-and-play site...

My thoughts are that we'll find accommodation options too so we can have a wee "social" around the driving-day.

It appears we'll have to open this up to a larger group than just "Scottish Grenadiers" to get the type of numbers we need (on the basis only 5 interested so far).
Further updates to follow, but likely to be in 2026...He already has 2 events in 2025 still to run which are dedicated to LR Defenders.

I'll update as it unfolds

Isle of Islay, Scotland.
Either works for me. Killin sounds good. I have a ‘seasonal pitch’ at Blair Drummond, season starts 13th March :) That then gives me a base to go out from.

PS - dogs welcome?

Interested in a Perthshire meet 👍
