Hi Pete,View attachment 7849938For anyone who may be interested in a bit of off road tuition then I would highly recommend some time with Hugh at Far by Four, https://www.farxfour.com/ based at Winton Castle in East Lothian. Hugh has been involved with Ineos since the press launch and now has a loan car from them so that he can introduce it to various people, including the various Mountain Rescue teams that regularly go to him for training. Fantastic to run through everything with someone who knows the vehicle and to see what it’s capable of on the variety of tracks, lumps and bumps on the Estate.
Thanks for that, I’ve emailed him to try and sort a date.I paid around £250 for a very full half day one on one. Worth every penny in my view!
Are there any places/estates in Scotland that you can pay to drive round. There are some amazing places with tracks, but all private land, that would be perfect to experience especially for people who are unable to walk long distances and never get the chance to get away from the roads.Utility Terrain Vehicle UTV Training Scotland | Far By Four
UTV Training in Scotland. This BORDA UTV training course is designed for those who are required to ride an UTV as part of their job and is ideal for Utility companies and gamekeepers.www.farxfour.com
Hugh at Far by Four now has a dedicated page for the Grenadier
Simple answer is: not that I'm aware of. What I would recommend is looking closely at 1:25,000 O/S maps - see what you can see.Are there any places/estates in Scotland that you can pay to drive round. GLASS membership gives access to Trailwise 2, which I recommend joining if in England and Wales, but there is no coverage of green lanes in Scotland so my understanding was that here we're none at all. Can you remember the name of the app that covers Scotland and does anyone have it and is able to see if there are many available lanes in Scotland? I'm guessing it will work on Android too.Simple answer is: not that I'm aware of. What I would recommend is looking closely at 1:25,000 O/S maps - see what you can see.
There is an iPad/iPhone map app that comes on an annual subscription from O/S, covers the whole UK (and to my recent surprise the USA, Australia and NewZealand).
It might be possible to find tracks that will take you off the beaten track. Do look at the high road/pass from Apllecross - check out the thread:
Any recommendations for a Scottish Grenadier road trip at Easter?
