CAUTION: Now in good shape but not perfect. If you are unsure speak to your mechanic or installer.

TORQUE SETTINGS

This post is a place to post torque settings for various parts of the INEOS Grenadier. I will add more as I find them, but feel free to post any settings you know.

You can convert Newton metres (Nm) to foot pounds and vice versa here.

WHEEL NUTS
Steel rims 180 Nm.

Alloy rims 160 Nm.

Spare tyre on back: TBC (but 120Nm has worked for me on other cars, but I check regularly when going remote).

Source here. Thanks to @Steven Cook

The US Owner's Manual, on page 130, only gives one figure 160 Nm. Not 160Nm for alloy and 180Nm for steel rims.

WHEEL STUD SIZE AND THREAD
Wheel stud size and thread is M14x1.5 (Source here).

TERMINAL SCREWS/NUTS ON CTEK UNITS
Use a 5mm Allen Key on the terminal screws (nuts) and tighten to 8 Nm/71 lb-in of torque (see Figure 2 on page 6 of the CTEK Manual). Tightening by hand is not good enough, as the connector plates and cables will come loose.

The unit itself can be secured using M4 or ST4.2 screws or bolts, in each of the four corners. The screw or bolt is torqued to 2 Nm/18 lb-in (see Figure 1 on page 6 of the CTEK Manual).

FUSES
Three factors seem to come into play when determining the torque settings; the fuse holder, the fuse type and the stud size (for MIDI and MEGA fuses). Read any instructions and follow any recommended torque settings if provided. Otherwise read on.

Z CASE FUSE NUTS ON 5 AND 7 STUD BUSBARS USED ON MAIN AND AUX BATTERY
Note:
the busbars used on the INEOS can have M6, M8 and M10 stud size. Both the 5 stud and 7 stud versions have a mixture of stud sizes, depending on the circuit rating. The higher the circuit rating the bigger the stud. You must work out the stud size and torque accordingly. The busbars can vary between models, so you need to look at each stud size before you torque them down.

In summary the torque settings are:
Screenshot 2023-09-15 05.14.32.png
M6 studs
No torque setting is given for the M6 studs in the busbar manual. However, the ZCASE MEGA fuse Manual gives a torque setting for M6 studs: 9.8Nm±1.4Nm or 8.4Nm to 11.2Nm.

1694575316328.png

M8 studs
Studs that are M8 can be torqued to 14Nm±2Nm, or 12 to 16Nm. However, the ZCASE® FHZ Series busbar manual states that the M8 Mounting Torque is 12-15Nm (a slight variation). Both agree between 12 to 15Nm. FHZ manual here. Relevant extract here:

1694510762199.png

Warning: these are the suggested torque settings for the Littelfuse busbars with M8 studs and Z Case fuses used in the INEOS Grenadier.

M10 studs
16Nm±2Nm or 14Nm to 18Nm for M10 studs. Source: Littelfuse FHZ Instruction Sheet here (page 2).

Additional information: the ZCASE MEGA Fuse manual states: “The fuse design is optimized for a one bolt connection M6 (40A - 250A) or M8 (300A - 600A) and can used directly on a battery post or busbar connection.” Suggesting you do not need any M10 stud even tough the busbar can be fitted with one.

Tip: the torque setting appropriate for fuses can depend on what fuse holder they are being installed into. First check the manual/instructions guide for any suggested torque settings for that fuse holder and fuse.

MIDI FUSE
Tip:
the torque setting appropriate for fuses can depend on what fuse holder they are being installed into. First check the manual/instructions guide for any suggested torque settings for that fuse holder and fuse.

For the single MIDI fuse check the stud size, it will be M5 or M6. The torque settings are (if you use 5Nm or 5.5Nm for either stud you should be OK):

Source here.

MEGA FUSE
Tip:
the torque setting appropriate for fuses can depend on what fuse holder they are being installed into. First check the manual/instructions guide for any suggested torque settings for that fuse holder and fuse.

AUX BATTERY
For the single MEGA® SN Series MEGA fuse holder used on the aux battery, the recommended torque settings are:
1694511455457.png
Note: I believe the IG uses M8 bolts not M6, but check, source here:

FACTORY INSTALLED RED WINCH
The Winch appears to use the HPDM Series - 70 V Max 600 A 2-Pole MEGA® Fuse Power Distribution Module, in which there are MEGA fuses. No torque setting is given, so I would use the recommendation for the aux battery MEGA fuse, being 12-18Nm. The same torque setting is given in another MEGA Fuse manual from Littelfuse here.

TOOLS
I have one torque wrench suitable for higher torque settings for wheel nuts, etc. and a second for lower torque settings (2-22Nm) for the fuses, CTEK units, screws, etc. Bike torque wrenches seem suited to these lower levels of torque; they are also often smaller than a full size torque wrench which can struggle to get into tight spaces. Tip: I choose a 1¼ torque wrench, as my smaller wrench, because it was compatible with other 1¼ sockets, torx heads, screw driver heads, etc. I owned. For others a 3/8 torque wrench maybe more useful.

OIL FILTER CAP/OIL FILTER COVER
Torque setting is 25Nm (Source: Joey and Stu Barnes).

Labelled 1 on the following diagram (Source: Clark Kent).

OIL SUMP PLUG
Torque setting is 25Nm (Source: Stu Barnes).

DONALDSON AIR INTAKE PRE-CLEANER
Torque setting for the Donaldson Cyclone Art Intake adapter nuts is 10Nm. Page 6 of the INEOS Fitting Guide. In turn the Cyclone Filter goes onto the Adapter and is held in place by a clamp. This is no recommend torque setting for the clamp.

GUTTER MOUNTED PIONEER PLATFORM ATTACHMENT POINTS
15-17NM or 11-13 LB/FT, INEOS Fitting Guide here. Tip: read the Installation Guide as there are various torque settings for different parts of the roof rack. Only one is shown below.

FRONT AND REAR DIFFS
Torque to 31Nm. (thanks @Ragman)

TRANSFER CASE
Torque to 15Nm. (thanks @Ragman)

Hey Doc, I think the oil filter cap is 25 Nm
Joey

I assume you mean the oil filler cap?

Anyone figured out how to torque the oil filler cap?

Changed back to oil filter cap, so it is what some people would call the oil filter cartridge or just oil filter?

BMW call it the filter cover. Item 1 as shown. The filter element is a cartridge inside the cover. Item 7.
I believe the torque value you're referring to is for the cover. This is B57 diesel but the B58 petrol is the same arrangement.

Torque settiings are now in good shape, with a few details to come, eg the roof rack. EDIT: roof rack now added.

I found the Torque settings for the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform. Now posted above. In short: 15-17NM or 11-13 LB/FT (there is more than one setting for the Roof Rack, I just posted the main one attaching the Rhino to the gutter).

Wheel nuts torque USA

The US Owner's Manual, on page 130, only gives one figure 160 Nm. Not 160Nm for alloy and 180Nm for steel rims.

I can't recall ; remind me where we got our 180 figure from?
My online manual and my owner's manual state 160 only.

The two figures (160 and 180) can be seen in this post here. The US Manual only has one.

I am just pointing out a difference in the new US Owners Manual.

I had the 160/180 figure copied months ago , and checked all mine were correct when I picked up the vehicle.
The Australian glovebox manual says 160 only. So maybe they need to issue a recall on that?
