For the first time I will drive my INEOS with the original wheels.
I like the delta 8 x 17, black, nice design. Allowed until 285-70-17; I prefer 295-70-17, perhaps without liftkit for STAGE ONE.
(idea for STAGE TWO: 315-70-17 and suspension kit)

So confirming the stud pattern is 6x130, but what are the factory rim widths and offsets? Most of the options listed are around +55 offset; is this the factory offset? Any idea on the factory alloy widths of the 17" and 18" rims?

The offset on 7x17" factory steelíes is +52, (tbc read that in another post).

A difference of a few mm is negligible, MB has approved offsets of 50-62mm on aftermarket wheels 7x17/6x130 with the factory ones being +55.

What IG will approve has yet to be seen..however, some jurisdictions worry about rims and tires and have specifics in the vehicles registration papers, others don't and you mount what you feel appropriate..

Generally speaking, it is less critical to increase the offset then to decrease it..

One way or the other, always check the load ratings of wheels and tires, allow for a safety margin for offroad use..

7” rim width seems on the narrow end of the range for a 265/70 tyre and basically rules out going up to 285/70 on the factory rims (if 7” wide). Has that been confirmed? Steel and alloy all the same?

Yeah that was me, the poor Ineos chap tried to tell me they were 17.5 and 18.5 wide I made him double-check.

I still don't know how far the wheels sit inside the arches though. Imma wait until it arrives before buying wheels though.

That's very useful - thanks. Interesting that the 18" rims are 0.5" wider. 7.5" width on the 17" rim options is OK for the factory tyre widths, but pretty limiting for anything above. Might change order to come with the stock steel and HT combo and just fit sufficientyl wide rims to handle a 285 width 17" tyre.

Hi folks,
I'll be ordering my vehicle with the 17-inch alloys. They are the lightest wheel (though I haven't looked at the difference in tire weight between the R17 tires and the R18 tires - but whatever the difference, it won't change my choice). But more importantly, the 17s provide for more sidewall than an 18-inch wheel, and my priority is maximizing off-road performance, not on-road performance. In practice, the difference between a 17 and an 18 on-road won't be that noticeable (a little frmer handling in the corners with the larger wheels). Because the tires are not all that large, I think the difference when airing down (off-road) between a 17 and an 18 is more significant than the difference on road (but again, not an enormous difference). So that's my logic (i.e. what makes sense for my particular driving).

I've got a couple of questions about wheels, and I'm hoping someone can help.

First, I've seen this table posted (below), but I'm not sure where its from. I have the U.S. Brochure, and its definitely not from that document. Does anyone know where this can be found?


Second, are the alloy wheels forged or cast? If you have the answer, could you also post the source.

The information is taken from the same website, I thought it was 6X130 what actual is 6X139.7
