What do you think :Why such a long journey for the Bowden cable between the high/low gear lever and the transaxle ?
Transaxle is just under the gear lever, but cable is 2 meter long !!

At a guess would say it's the lead/approach of the cable that necessitated the length.

Either that or someone has shares in the cable company!

I have a question. How do you get access to that website?

Thanks,
Duane
I don’t think you can get access unless you are a dealer or authorised service centre or an INEOS Automotive employee.
Here’s a picture I took when having my cable replaced.
I m thinking like @ECrider that the cables have to be that long to allow for the correct approach and no tight bends which would cause more friction.

Maybe LHD v. RHD lever placement within the cabin? Cables are also more forgiving if anything is out of position in the driveline. Just ask Jeep drivers.
