We didnt stood at -40°C, but if, I would let the engine run. But not because of the fuel but because of the coolant which is "only" save down to -35°C and the battery

Just take the fuel offered locally and you're fine. No need for a heater. If all cars drive with it here, mine will also. In Finnland you need to look for "Arctic Fuel". They sell fuel which is not save for -40°C and lower, as well.
