Hi all

I need help.

I am 193 CM and the driver seat causes severe cramping down my right side (right hand drive).

I have had the bottom seat cushion replaced under warranty. No joy. I then had it padded by an upholsterer, no joy.

I am now considering dropping in a Scheel-Mann Vario XXL.

Please educate me on any considerations. It seems this has never been done.

Is this possible? I hear things about airbags and occupancy sensors. How do I get past these?

Failing this, I have to sell my Grenadier which would make me sad.

Any help on making this project work would be appreciated.

regards, carl

You could bridge the occupancy sensor and use a simple circuit to fool the vehicle that the airbag is in place.
Alternatively contact the manufacturer for a solution.

Honest question... have you tried different seat adjustments?

My wife is much more comfortable in the INEOS with the seat back tilted back (more reclined) slightly more than in any other car we have owned.

I remember Land Rover had similar issues and there were lots of aftermarket seat rail height adapter brackets to raise the seat. Anytime like that might work. Will have to be custom made but wouldn’t be hard to do at a decent engineering shop.

It is possible but complex. You must transfer the occupancy sensor from your old seat and integrate the Scheel-Mann's side airbag into the Grenadier's system. This requires a professional auto electrician to do safely. Contact Scheel-Mann directly; they may have a specific kit or instructions for the Grenadier.
