Hello, I would like to ask whether any member of the forum has examined the possibility of modifying the driver’s seat to incorporate power adjustments with a memory function.
Following a post indicating that the rear seat panel corresponds to that of a BMW X1, and considering that many components used by Ineos originate from BMW, as well as the fact that the Grenadier seats feature markings for the installation of lumbar electric adjustment controls and seat cushion extension, I have been assessing the feasibility of this modification. Additionally, after reviewing various images of BMW X1 seats, it appears that the seat cover may be the same; I have attached some photos for reference.
In my checks, I have observed that the seat connectors—particularly the yellow connector—are identical in both vehicles, although there may be some differences in pin configuration. Therefore, I would not rule out that the airbag could also be compatible. Regarding the CAN bus system, it should not pose a significant obstacle, as other forums mention solutions involving simulation of the required signals to enable the electric functions, including memory.
In this regard, I see two possible approaches:
I would appreciate any information, experience, or suggestions on the matter. Likewise, if anyone has access to wiring diagrams for the Ineos Grenadier driver’s seat, it would be extremely helpful.
Thank you very much.

In this regard, I see two possible approaches:
- Transplant the entire seat frame from the BMW X1 into the Ineos Grenadier, which would likely require adapting or welding certain brackets for lumbar or shoulder adjustments, as well as modifying the mounting rails and transferring the Grenadier’s airbag.
- Evaluate the possibility of integrating all necessary electrical components into the original Grenadier seat frame.
I would appreciate any information, experience, or suggestions on the matter. Likewise, if anyone has access to wiring diagrams for the Ineos Grenadier driver’s seat, it would be extremely helpful.
