On several occasions now, I have driven for half an hour or so stopped and then been unable to restart. I now carry a good sized starter pack and use a trickle charger in down time.
I am hoping this can be resolved at service. It is strange because when I restart, the battery shows low (below10%) after a few minutes driving the battery will jump to 80%. Is the computer miss reading the battery or what is going on.
I have had well over 50 years of driving many different vehicles and have never had to carry a starter pack. Please tell me this is solvable.

I don't get the battery charge level but I had similar issues and it was the Thatcham approved immobiliser fob battery needed changing.
I get what you are saying about carrying a battery booster but modern vehicles drain batteries due to all the monitoring tech that didn't exist prior. Everytime you unlock or just open the drivers door the computers are woken up in preparation so that it all starts instantly. When you turn on other tech it takes time to turn on but we expect cars to be instantly be ready when we turn the key.

If you don't have an immobiliser I would ring your dealer

There is a thread about battery drain

Starter Battery Drain; How to stop ECU's etc from consuming battery when door opens?
