Correct battery charging profile for the Moll EFB battery (trickle for main or DC to DC for aux) 10 September 2025

DRAFT AND BEING COMPILED

What is the correct charging profile for any battery charger for use with the Moll EFB auxiliary battery used in the INEOS? Moll's EFB recommended charge rate is 14.4 volts and the maximum is 14.8 volts for its EFB batteries.

Most of the following information has been extracted from a discussion here, from multiple members.

BOSCH
Bosch C7 12v 7amp battery charger with a six stage profile recommended by INEOS Tech help. This charger has a EFB profile.

BMPRO CHARGERS
It seems the STD and AGM profiles would work with EFB batteries using BMPRO chargers.

BMPRO AC to DC – the Battery Charge 15, 25 and 60 charging profiles are:

I have used the 15 amp successfully on the IG's main and aux battery, using the AGM profile for short periods.

CTEK
The CTEK 120S and 250SE units have an EFB charging profile.

Warning: Some CTEK chargers have a recondition mode, DO NOT use it on an EFB battery, as this mode goes up to 15.8 volts, above the maximum voltage allowed for the Moll EFB.

REDARC
In short, a Lead Acid profile or a profile based on the Max or recommended charge voltage.

If Moll's EFB recommended charge rate is 14.4 volts and the maximum is 14.8 volts, profile A below would be the one to use, or make a custom profile if the charger allows.
