Eric Washington, the Elliot Bay Ineos general manager, is seriously considering arranging a flying spanners visit to Anchorage for a couple of maintenance issues for our growing fleet. Ineos itself has evidently quietly abandoned their earlier corporate support for flying spanners so this initiative is being organized by Eric to aid us and is not part of a broader effort by Ineos.

Maintenance matters that may addressed would include:

1) The door lock recall and
2) Software updates
3) Perhaps other issues like 12 or 24K maintenance checks or maintenance reminders resets depending of time available.

No details like cost or schedule are firm yet and the ultimate feasibility will be partly determined by our local participation. Local owners will likely have to share some costs like airfare and lodging for the mechanic so the more participation we have, the lower our per owner costs will be.

The door lock recall alone takes about 6 hours per car so it may require two or more trips to get it all of our local rigs done.

If interested, email the EBA Service manager Jon Dealino and advise him of the service you need (door lock recall, software update, etc). If you bought your Grenadier from another dealer, you need to include your VIN number as well when emailing Jon. Please cc EBA GM Eric Washington as well on your email.

Hey Pete,

Mine is a 2025 Model Year and EBA assured me the new software came with it and door lock was taken care of before delivery, probably won't hit my 12K before the end of this year. So far, no major issues or MX lights, however come oil change reminder I can see the inability to reset the maintenance light being annoying and my one gripe so far. I did have a fairly nasty rock chip and Safelite was able to resin seal it within 24 hours so hopefully that holds through the winter. However, if a tech is coming up, I wouldn't mind seeing if there's anything schedule maintenance wise they could take care of early. But I wouldn't be interested in flying someone up specifically for that until it's due. Or warranty work.

Forward thinking if someone did come up is there garage space available for rent with a lift for them if needed? or is that something we would need to source and possibly rent a bay for the day or two.
