Anyone up here in AK or in the Arctic felt the need to add an oil pan heater? There's some generic options for the B58 engine but wondering if anyone has one installed or not. Mostly garaged at home but at work and depending on how much I'm traveling around the state it can be 7 days sitting outside at the airport. My current Toyota's have performed well with a good cold cranking battery and I have never used a heater, then again they're leases so I drove them like a long term rental car.

Open to thought or opinions or if a good battery upgrade will suffice. Eventually I'll add a remote start to help supplement the cold winter starts.

One owner who lives in Delta was going to have a place called "Fairbanks Imports Services Center" winterize their Grenadier. They're going to install a heater pad, oil pan heater, and a trickle charger that is daisy chained to a single plug-in. I think the cost was supposed to be in the $600-$800 price range.

Give them a call at (907) 451-1870 and see if they can help.

Mine never had a overnighting in Fairbanks at -10°F but it spends most of its time here in Anchorage.
