Hi Guys

I took the liberty (without his consent) to copy and paste a post of DelareyIG here on this forum in the hope we could get some information flowing regionally.

Hi all. I recently bought the Eibach 2.5" lift kit and it was great, till I started reading about drive-shaft/CV Boot failures in the US.
Some people say it's an inherent issue and not the fault of the lift, but of course Ineos will void your warranty. I see that Agile Offroad has come out with a custom drive-shaft that will sort out the problem of length and angle with the U-Bolt. The reason I did it in the first place is when I overland I got a lot of sag and close to bottoming out on my last vehicle. This time I want to pre-empt that and I do feel the standard springs are very soft to begin with, so they will have the same issue. Another option would be airbags at the back. Has anyone on this group done a lift or have an opinion on all of this?

Another thing is where are you buying the accessories for your vehicle. Real pity we don't have a Black Sheep equivalent here in SA.....

Totally resonate with this—Parkinson’s Law hits hard when you’re living out of a vehicle. I’ve definitely been guilty of packing for every possible scenario, only to realize half of it never sees daylight. Over time, I’ve learned that the best suspension mod really can be a lighter load.

I’ve been subject to the gear creep myself. Ended up adding airbags to help manage the weight on extended trips, which has been a solid compromise—gives me the support when I need it without diving into mods that require specialist repair in the middle of nowhere. That’s a line I try not to cross. If I can’t fix it trailside or with basic tools, it’s probably not coming with me.

Appreciate the reminder to rethink what’s essential.

Hey David. Sorry I've been off the forum for a while. I also did the 2.5" lift and took it off a week later once the news of the shaft failures started coming out.....I did it for exactly the same reason as you, but now I'm going with the airbags. I'm less worried about the warranty, and more about breaking down in the bush. Although it seems like it will fail no matter what and we are just waiting for it to happen.... No great solve yet, but Agile does seem to have a good idea of how to fix it. Just getting it here is a bitch. J Industries also seem to have a CV joint solve, but still not available. Let me know if you have been able to find a solution for it. Cheers. Marchant
