Hi all,

I've been tinkering with a Grenadier and worked out a way of (relatively simply) allowing the DRLs to be switched off for a few of my customers who are in the game...game? Understandably, this function will only be allowed when used off road, therefore, is primarily aimed at those who deer stalk etc. It requires a small loom section and toggle switch at a small expense.

If this is something yourself or those you may know are interested in, just let me know. It doesn't seem to flash a bulb warning up strangely, so no chance of scaring off a perimeter of animals when the switch is pressed.

I am still in the experimental stage, but likely will have the product finished in a few weeks.

Any ideas you wonderful bunch have for future fixes, upgrades or accessories just pop me a message too!

Tom

Suggestions for improved reversing lights?
Buzz Overland have some but you still need to operate via one of the switches rather than link to the standard reversing lights. Would have been a bit more interested if it worked off the reverse. I've installed a light on my ladder and attached to one of the exterior plugs.
Cheap towbar installed could be of interest with all the electric requirements.

I have factory fitted tow hitch. And the inevitable four spare roof switches….. but no external plugs. Mines a Fieldmaster - so they are inside behind panels. Apparently. I am definitely the least techy person to ever own large 4x4’s 🤣

I've wired them into ext 3 and quite like that I can switch to assist at night when required but leave off in normal daytime reversing. I hate electrics but didn't find this too daunting a task.
Saving the pennies now for the buzz front 4 pot light bar on the bumper. Think that maybe reaching the outer limits of my dabble into the dark arts though.

I know my limits. Stuff gets done when I can afford to pay for it to be done (y)

Born again civil servant. Paperwork and admin, forms and planning = no problem. Wiring and mechanical stuff….. not a chance. Current self-satisfied boast? I’ve taken bone-idyllness to the next level 🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I have been toying with the idea, nothing quite concrete yet. As CRH has said, you can fit the Buzz kit. Alternatively, there may be a way to implement the reverse lights to create the feed to run when in reverse, I'll have a tinker again

We had someone pop in advertising these once: What are your thoughts? I can only imagine the reverse camera would freak out

On the Buzz instalation video they said they tried to attach to the reverse wiring but the system throws a wobbly and puts error warning up. They believe it's due to the sensors being very sensitive with the loading (or something to that effect)

I would imagine so, I've successfully used feeds from the lights before using minimal amperage pull. I will see if it works on the reverse lights too
