this VW part also works... diesel at least not sure about petrol.

Volkswagen Genuine VW TDI Diesel Fuel Nozzle 000072709

Thanks for the reminder @bakepl.

I had tried to obtain this genuine VDub adaptor a couple of times but it was always out of stock. Currently available from Amazon. Cost me A$36.69. Delivered in 12 days ex-USA.

Length 135mm
Filler end OD 25mm (bottom)
Nozzle end ID 42mm (top)
Nozzle recess depth 25mm

Haven't used it yet. I expect it will take some trigger whispering to refuel without blow back or nozzle cut-off.

Reminder: You only need a solution like this if you're refuelling a diesel Grenadier from a hi-flow pump that is fitted with a large diameter nozzle, as is often found at truck fuel stops in Australia.

Finally had a chance to 3d print the protoype based on the .stl file that was drawn up and is uploaded in the resource area. I haven't had a chance to test it for actually assisting with the filling of the tank but it looks promising.

A couple showing the support structure needed as it was printed in the upright position.
Wakeo I have another project that I think might be suited to 3d printing , I realy miss the seat arm rests that I had in my freelander 2 and the IG does not even have a centre consoul rest . I was driving my disco 2 the other day and noticed that the centre consoul box and lid are very close to the same size as the IG , I took one off a spare parts disco I have end it fits pretty well except it is still to low for an arm rest and needs to be about 50mm higher , now I am at the pointy end of the problem . Would it be possable and feasable to print a spacer to fit over the IG box and fit the disco2 lid ? The dimensions of the lid are 9 inches w x 10.5 inches l , With the lower dimensions I would think it would be better fo you to look at yourself and may be incorprate a flange of some sort for fixing .

I used one of these at Tom Price a few weeks back.

Worked well except it could do with a rubber seal of some sort at the mouth to stop blow back.

I can confirm you need to be careful on trigger. I’ve used this in anger and worked well but will spit a bit.

I reckon a rubber seal of some sort at the mouth would make this perfect.

Re. the dimensions for a High flow diesel attachment, I discovered today that the vented spout on a yellow plastic Sceptre 20L diesel jerry can is too narrow to activate the release mechanism for the metal safety plate in the filler neck. After "finally" taking notice of the schematic on the filler flap, I twigged that a separate filler attachment is required for use with a jerry can....
Thanks @Clark Kent for the critical dimensions of the spout required to open the metal flap!
@pedrogb 's adapted $5 SCA funnel fits the bill!

Ok so 25mm end inserted into the fuel filler will release the locking mechanism?

Frustrating as hell trying to figure this out.

Scroll back to post #21 of this thread if you missed it. As noted by others: The VW adapter fits and functions but in practice it's akin to drinking from the fire hose trying to use it to refuel from a hi-flow pump. Yes, 25mm end into the filler.

Yeah I read post 21. I haven’t got that VW adapter, but would like to be able to unlock the metal gate at the fuel inlet neck.

Wondering if any 25mm circular object will do the trick.

Thanks.

$5 funnel from Supercheap. Cut the spout at the 25mm outer diameter mark. Exact fit which releases the metal "gate" 👍
