Sealing raised air intake

Unfortunately, there's no picture of the back of the Gren X snorkel showing how the outer and inner tubes are connected. Does the outer tube have a flange or fitting that goes through the fender from the outside and can be connected to the inner tube there in a watertight manner? This is precisely the biggest weakness of the INEOS RAI. The inner and outer tubes are held together at the bottom by two screws and at the top by the plastic clips of the turn signal.View attachment 7929085
I believe it's a through wing/fender fitting. I've ordered the bogan rear facing version. The increased induction noise should help drown any passenger conversation. I am hoping to receive it next month all going well. As stated elsewhere there was an accident at the factory and this has caused added lead time. Will photograph before fitting.

The best images of the GrenX Sealed Snorkels are in this thread:

For example:

I'm familiar with these pictures. However, it's still impossible to see how the transition between the outer and inner pipes is constructed and how the seal is achieved.

Then maybe look again, because I can see the images that show this.

This looks like the external snorkel, a seal and part of the internal pipe inside the fender and the bolt holes appear to match between all three components.

@LazarusTheGrenny can probably tell you how they go together, but the OEM schematics in the thread give some idea.

Thanks for the pictures. I've never seen this view of the back before. This is a design as it should be: two flanges with a rubber gasket in the middle and six screws around the perimeter firmly connecting the two parts, ensuring a tight seal. The metal construction also has the advantage of being less prone to bending. Perfect. (y) (y) (y) :)

utilising the original panel entry and running lamp also give it a big tick. personally i would put loctite 5xx gasket eliminator on the mating surface as well for extra insurance.

I am not happy with some of the Ineos Grenadier, sales people telling me there is no snorkel option! I live in NH, not Africa, or Australia! We don’t need a raised air intake! We do need an honest, real snorkel!!
Does anyone know where to get a real SNORKEL for the Grenadier?
. Have 2 types of sealed snorkles.

The round GrenX snorkel has two variants, ram head and back facing tear drop style, making 3 in total.

Rear teardrop variant has the loudest induction noise, the ram head is quieter and the GrenX OEM style is the quietest of the three choices.
