2025 vs 2026 Fieldmaster. Opinions needed.

Arguing on the internet is the equivalent of talking to a wall. I made a statement based off the OP concerns and you don't agree. Great, agree to disagree and let's move on and stay on topic.

Was anything significant changed in MY25 vs. the later MY24? I know of the sticky button issues and door seals in the early MY24, but with a 5 year/60k warranty, buying used might also be appealing.

Thanks for validating my criticism of your posts.

Pretty sure most of your questions could be answered by using the search button as this topics has been discussed before. Try it! ;)
I might also add that your question does not address the OP question about opinions. Ironic, right...

@Superconductor , one thing I'm doing with my local dealer is doing an extended test drive (for a day/weekend) of a 25 and 26 to help decide as well. Previously I had a 26 for the day in the winter and it was great with the steering being much improved, but this wasn't a deal breaker on the previous models for me. I plan to do the same this week or next with a 25 now that it's warmer out. You should see if your dealer will do the same.

The 2 reasons I'm still so torn is the following
  1. AC
  2. For me, the vehicle needs a blind spot warning and a rear camera that has better visibility. The Wolfbox solves this, but on the 26 I don't believe you can replace the mirror or cover it without getting notifications and warning lights.
Let me know what you decide. You and I seem to be in the same boat so it'd be great to compare notes.

LC0013, can you stop harassing people just because our opinions don't align to yours.
Sure, as long as your opinions and statements are supported by evidence, facts and documents. Try it sometime...

And again, it is rather ironic that you cannot stay on topic.
Send me a PM so you do not continue to clutter up this thread.

You wouldn't know if evidence were to smack you in the face mate. Give it a rest, smoke something stronger.

I am also curious to hear people's experiences as I have the same concerns. For what it's worth, my local dealer also said that they have had a couple 2025 models that will likely need to be bought back as lemons because they have not been able to fix the AC (one even got a whole new HVAC system installed without success). I so badly want IA to fix these issues because the car is otherwise awesome. I just know that if I bought a car with an unreliable HVAC system at this price point I would be kicking myself forever. Hard to excuse something like that for almost 100k, no matter how "back to basics" the car is.

Also, their website says it is a dual zone system but as far as I know it is a single zone system (see below). When I showed this to the dealer they were perplexed and after doing their due diligence, they admitted that it must be a corporate error because they do not understand where this is coming from. If I am wrong, please tell me. Would be great news if the new system is dual zone.

Please drive a 2025 and a 2026 and give us your opinions.

Make sure the HVAC setting are set before starting the engine.

Thanks...

Example:
If it is warm.
Insert key
Turn key on without starting
Auto button pressed and lit
A/C button pressed and liwarm t
Select Vent and floor zone
Temperature set to one click above "C"
You have now done your base settings for using A/C

If too cold turn temp one or two clicks toward the right (warm).

You don't need major changes. Use small control changes.

If you are warm make sure Auto and A/C are lit.
Move temp towards the right.

If it is a cold day start out with Auto button lit, temp straight up and A/C off.

Set both the 2025 and the 2026 the same before strting the engine.

I am making it more complicated than it is to make a point... setup HVAC base settings then make small changes.

Thanks...

If heating is not consistent the cooling level was never checked and purged my the dealer.

It is a great system ounce you understand it.
Again... initial setting before starting the engine. Then small adjustments...

If you are cold move t

I never use Auto. The few times I tried it, it went bezerk! I’m much more comfortable making small adjustments in manual mode. I start the engine with everything off, then turn on as needed. I turn everything off, then shutdown the engine.

Mine also works fine.

I've had my climate controls set to auto since the early 2000s... Set and forget. I'll find out today and tomorrow if that's the case on a 25 I'm trying out.

I find auto is rubbish at giving the footwell some heat. A few times I have found my legs getting very cold and switching to manual resolves it.

I believe it was easier to launch the space shuttle.... ;)

Most people just find that it is easier to complain about.

Once you have it setup it is simply a matter of small adjustments to the temperature dial.

If you never set it up and crank the dial and press the buttons like a toddler it can be very tantrum inducing.

Oh... and please check the coolant tanks at least once after purchase.
