Have you ever verified that number by what you pay for at the pump?
I enter $/gal, gallons purchased, and mileage every time I fuel up. I don’t really concern myself with the $ just the MPG.
Nice. It’s inching higher. Are you driving normal or “hyper-mileing”? What tires are you running?
Just normal driving with no economy stress, press the fun pedal now and then, and stock 17” alloys with Bridgestones.

I love this thing!

I have a theory on the fuel consumption discrepancy between the IG computer, and what we see at the pump. Now my IG measures in L/100km, and it max’s out at 30L/100km (7.8 US mpg), no matter what my foot does. So when I’m using more than 30/100km (on that mad overtaking manoeuvre) does it still calculate the elevated consumption at 30L/100km?
I went on a 700km (435 mi) trip recently, not much heavy foot involved. The IG measured it at 13.2 L/100 (17.8 mpg), the fuel bowser measured it 13.5 L/100 (17.4 mpg). This is a 2% difference, however around town it is a 7% difference.

I always find it impressive how much is discussed about fuel consumption. If I drive 10,000 km a year and have a big car like an SUV, it doesn't really matter whether I need 10 or 14 liters. That's just 50 EUR a month. With a car worth 90 k, that's not really worth mentioning, is it? :coffee:

My x 5 45e has needed 11.9 liters for the four years I've been driving it. I always ask myself why the damn thing has a battery? Oh yes, for auxiliary heating and cooling, of course. 🥵😰;););)

It matters when you're out there for days without any fuel around.
Speaking of monthly difference - my old Range Rover manages about 11 mpg, making the Grenadier a fuel-saver at 14 mpg. The difference in fuel costs calculated using 15k miles/year and our cheap $5/gallon gas is $122 a month.
You can think of it as a new set of 255/85R17 Mickey Thompsons for the Grenadier, every year.

I feel for non diesel owners. B57 I have averaged 11.4L / 100kms taken at 15000km. Based on actual fill ups. However if the OD is out by 4%, it would push that to 11.7 or 11.8 per 100 in real figures... still good for 2.7 raw tonnes.
